About Us

WMF has been setup as a charitable organisation and was formed on the 21st February 2010. It is run by a dedicated team of volunteers with a diverse range of professional and cultural expertise.

WMF has been formed to provide support and guidance for the social and cultural needs of disadvantaged communities, and to help fill the gap where service provision is not met.

One of our aims is to address the inequalities faced by minority communities. Especially the welfare and support for the young and vulnerable members of the community. Many young people, mainly Muslims are lacking basic key skills, and are being brought up in deprived areas. Where there are high levels of unemployment and no affordable leisure time activities, there is little help, support or funding from local authorities. This leads to problems with drugs, alcohol, criminality and antisocial behaviour to name but a few.

WMF aims to establish networking and partnership with local government, multi agencies including current community organisations and professional bodies to channel the awareness about the diverse multi faith communities living in the city. To support a shared vision on what people have in common rather than the differences and to engage and consult with individuals and organisations to share their objectives thereby bringing about real change in society, In doing so we hope to bring all the communities together to encourage peace and harmony in our great City of Wolverhampton.
